ok. so I could make up some excuse how I waited a day to submit this for dA's eighth birthday, figuring that 8\8\08 was more fitting than 8\7\08, but I won't.

Plain and simple, it took longer than I thought. Who knew copying and pasting numbers could be so hard?

But I don't really need to apologize. After all, dA really should have temporarily moved their birthday back a day. It really is more fitting. Maybe they figured too much else was happening on triple-0-8.

Anywho, each of those words are the number eight in some language. Many of them are African tribal dialects, but European languages can be found near the center, and Asiatic out by the top and bottom.

If you want to know what any of them are, I might be able to help. It all depends on how good my memory is.

I guess this celebrates both the international spirit this week with the olympics and all, as well as dA. More and more, I see languages other than english in comments and descriptions. Which is absolutely excellent. May this year be even more border-expanding for dA.

I'd like to thank everyone for being so wonderfully supportive and all-around community focused here at dA. Even though I've only been with you guys for only a year, deviantart.com has become a staple of my daily web-browsing.
